The University of New Haven, founded on the Yale campus in 1920, is a private university situated on the coast of southern New England. The 80-acre main campus is conveniently located near the culturally rich city of New Haven in the state of Connecticut just an hour and a half from New York City and less than three hours from Boston. It is a diverse and vibrant community of more than 6,800 students of whom 1200 are international students from more than 40 countries. The University operates a satellite campus in Tuscany, Italy, and offers programs at our satellite campuses in Orange, Connecticut; New London, Connecticut; Old Lyme, Connecticut.
The University of New Haven was named one of the nation's best institutions by The Princeton Review in its 2018 "The Best 382 Colleges" guidebook. Additionally, the University was ranked #17 on the publication's list of "Best Career Services," joining institutions such as Clemson, Bentley, Northeastern, and Emerson. The U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of New Haven's Tagliatela College of Engineering # 55 out of nearly 200 schools in its category ranking engineering colleges that do not have a doctoral program. The College of Business programs are accredited by AACSB, which is the hallmark of excellence in business education. AACSB accreditation places the University of New Haven among the top 5 percent of the best business schools around the globe. The University of New Haven is ranked in the 30 safest college towns by Safewise.
Student Services
The University of New Haven is proud to say that what we offer as a differentiator from other schools is the support we provide our students. A dedicated admissions staff will ensure students can apply in a quick and efficient manner, ensure admissions decisions are returned within 7-10 business days and once accepted provide webinars on attending a visa interview. Our staff will greet you at the airport and bring you to campus (at no cost to you). We have fun activities during orientation that allows students to mingle with the deans, faculty and staff in an informal setting.
The library is open from mid-semester onwards for 24 hours, students can utilize group study areas or individualized quiet study areas as needed. Our student life office has several academic, non-academic activities and tours of New York City, local areas, picnics, beach visits etc for our graduate students. Our career development office supports students in creating their resumes, and provide assistance is finding internships and full-time positions utilizing OPT and CPT. Our international services office provides students with advising and support needed for immigration, OPT, CPT etc. There are several student cultural and academic clubs with leadership position opportunities within these clubs/groups.
