Birmingham is a thriving city with first-class cultural, social and sporting facilities. You cannot fail to be inspired by our campus, which is rich in heritage and beauty, set in a leafy green site with a wealth of amenities and attractions including: the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the Guild of Students, banks, chaplaincy, fresh fruit and vegetable stall, hairdresser, libraries, Munrow Sports Centre, opticians, supermarkets, travel agent and Winterbourne House and Garden.

We offer a huge diversity of study opportunities at undergraduate and postgraduate (both taught and research) levels in all major disciplines including Business, Engineering, Science, Humanities, Law and Social Sciences.

The University of Birmingham is highly regarded by employers, being one of the top UK universities that major companies target when looking for new employees.

Student Services

We have a dedicated team of qualified international advisors who support you from your application to study at Birmingham through to your graduation. The International Students Advisory Service (ISAS) provides support and advice for prospective and current international students at the University, including visa and immigration advice and working and living in the UK.

We guarantee a place in University accommodation to all international students who are new to Birmingham. This is because we understand the importance of securing suitable accommodation, particularly when you are getting used to an unfamiliar environment and meeting new people.

Every student at Birmingham is automatically a member of the Guild of Students. Run by students, for students, the Guild represents 28,000 students, bringing them together on issues they care about to create positive change and achieve equality for and within its membership. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build up networks of contact and support including around 200 clubs and societies, job searches, volunteering, mentor schemes and entertainment.
